Continuation of the best, after the absence of competitors, series of basketball simulators. In the new version you awaits the sequential collection of improvements in the play mechanics, new possibilities, the grown prettier drawing and renovated soundtrack.

 

NBA Live 08 for Wii or PC is easily the weakest EA effort thus far on Nintendo's system, and that includes Madden, FIFA, Tiger, SSX, and even MySims; it's simply too thin. From the game's preliminary boot it may seem as though NBA Live has everything a Wii-owning b-ball nut would want, but it's simply not true, as the game lacks dynasty mode, create-a-baller, or any actual resemblance of true-to-life basketball strategy whatsoever. This may be a game "anyone can play like a pro" in, but if Wii isn't your first system, or if NBA Live isn't your premiere basketball experience you'll be hugely disappointed with what it has to offer.

NBA Live 08 is EA ’s weakest attempt on Wii thus far, hands down. It lacks the polish, depth, or passion of any of the other motion projects had, removing full modes and options of the other console versions while also skipping on any of the expected PC additions. We’re not talking about the included Family Play mode, or the game’s Party Mode which includes two mini-games; we’re talking about seamless motion control that works in more ways than just a simple button press, PC-specific modes that truly make use of the console’s strong points (IR being one of those, something never used in NBA Live), and the intuitive “Learn Madden” equivalent mode of NBA Live, where players instantly are greeted with step-by-step tutorials and a range of training modes that familiarize them with the PC hardware.
